Installing only the Gnome in Mandrake 8.2

--- Can I install Mandrake 8.2 with only Gnome and then install KDE 3, I have a problem

--- The only problem that thy will be no packages kde, kppp kedit type konqueror & co. but does no harm. --- But

KDE 3 no longer has these updated packages

--- Yes of course, say this if you nescessite this package in the meantime, it is best to install kde 3 in this way, there is waste in this way. ---

Has a bug in KDE 3 immediately after login.
That setup wizard always pops up, you make the settings, but it seems that it does not save, the next login it always comes back. Its sort this out ---

--- The README below
, is saying that the kde3 must be installed on the kde 2.2.2 packages because some have not been ported to kde3.
ftp://download.us.kde.org/pub/kde/st. ..andrake / README ---

not have to do it not, is kind of gross ..
's mass or to install and only two tascar KDE3, is much more clean ..

--- "Those packages are Meant to be installed in parallel with KDE-2.2.2,
Which makes it Possible to use KDE-2.2.2 ported applications that have not Been to
KDE-3.0 yet. For this reason, the KDE-3 packages install into Themselves
/ opt/kde3. " --- In

Morimoto manual it says the following:
After installing Mandrake 8.2 is highly recommended to upgrade to KDE 3.
I'm still in doubt. Some colleagues here say there are no problems installing GNOME and only then install KDE 3, krdoso the readme says is correct, who is right
