Problems with Windows XP Boot CD

What happens is this. I changed my motherboard, processor and memory card Soyo K7VTA PRO, Duron 800MHz and two sticks of PC133 SDRAM (one 256 and another of 64). Kensou, can be a freshness, but do not like having the feeling of using a distro that contains programs with older versions. I like using current distros, so that when launching a new version of Ubuntu here I migrate to the new version. I am a user of desktop Linux for fun and curiosity.

Oops, so ... man, I am not come to some forks. The Trinity is one. Never used it, but it is a fork. It's like the MATE. But thanks anyway.

I've used Mint for a while, but it is a fork of Ubuntu, so I prefer to run Ubuntu directly.

But I have some news. As I have two disks from within Windows resized the second disk and installed Ubuntu on it without dual-boot with Windows. When I want to use Ubuntu use the BIOS boot menu to start the second disk. I'm not winless (I thought it better that way) but I do not get stuck in a VM. =)

Linux Mint Debian (LMDE) is not based on Ubuntu. It is a roling ditro release based on Debian.
